It has been a busy month for the Lab Coat crew and in the best way possible. We started things off with Two Fresh’s widely popular album “Air Mail” which was released through Alex B’s Elm & Oak label. We followed that with the third installment of our podcast series featuring a guest mix by auditory genius Futexture and we’re finishing things for the month off with Bookworm’s long awaited “Outnumbered by Colors: Hue”.
With a catalog that continues to grow in diversity, Isaac LeFever (the producer better known as Bookworm) has a rather interesting set of accomplishments already under his belt.
In April of last year, he claimed a weekly number 1 spot for his dubstep remix of Mochipet’s “Pythagorean Hyphy Proof” on the Additech digital download charts. Switching genres at the tail end of 2010, his track “Ursine Combat Squad” from the Mindelixir Presents “Repeat Business” was featured in a weekly top 10 must listen DnB chart on Beatport. You’ve also likely heard his more classically styled jazzy hip hop offerings on Lab Coat’s “Hi EP” and recently Bookworm has been experimenting with house and 2 step.
This is the first part of a 3 part EP Bookworm has been working on since the end of Fall last year. The melody and beat structure in these three tracks are full of detail and nuance and you’ll be left eagerly awaiting the final segments of this project, due for completion later this year.
